8 Paddles of Teaching

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026

8 Paddles of Teaching is run by Gail Aroha in Christchurch, Aotearoa New Zealand. When you sign up for a free guide, buy a resource or get in touch, you trust me with some of your personal information. This page explains what I collect, why, who helps me look after it, and what you can ask me to do with it. I follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

What I collect

I never see or store your full card details. Payments are handled securely by Stripe, and I only see the last four digits of your card and the card type.

Why I collect it

I won't use your information for anything unrelated to these reasons without asking you first.

Who helps me look after it

I use a small number of trusted services to run 8 Paddles of Teaching. They only receive what they need to do their job:

Some of these services store information on servers outside New Zealand, including in the United States. I choose providers that protect personal information to a standard comparable to New Zealand law.

I will never sell, rent or trade your personal information. I will only share it with anyone else if the law requires me to.

How I keep it safe

How long I keep it

I keep your details for as long as you're on my email list or have access to something you bought. If you unsubscribe or ask me to delete your details, I will, except for purchase records, which New Zealand tax law requires me to keep for seven years.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can:

Just email me and I'll reply within 20 working days, usually much sooner.

If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, please tell me first so I can put it right. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle your information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
